Aumiller Youngquist then prepares a concept book which visually organizes preliminary ideas and serves as a working tool for the project. Changes to initial suggestions are encouraged, as through collaboration "our" vision is transformed into "your" vision. This process is accompanied by the addition of eccentric or unusual details which add complexity, individuality and character to the project. As a result, the patron immediately grasps the central concept, but through a more leisurely process of discovery is intrigued by fresh or witty touches which are remembered long after the visit.

Our Collective Creative Intellect

Leading the staff on this creative journey are Bill Aumiller and Keith Youngquist, who founded the company in 1980. Native Chicagoans and registered architects, they are licensed in twenty four states and are members of the American Institute of Architects, Illinois Restaurant Association, Themed Entertainment Association, to cite a few. David Kasprak, a third principal joined the company in 1985 as a project architect.

Numerous awards testify to the growing national and international recognition of our achievements. Aumiller Youngquist is the recipient of the Platinum Circle Award for Design Excellence from Hospitality Design magazine, and won the "Best of Competition" Award from Restaurant/Hotel Design International for our work with the Chicago restaurant The Eccentric.
